The OutSystems ONE Event 2024 in Amsterdam

The 2024 OutSystems ONE conference in Amsterdam did not disappoint. Of course it was all about the future of application development, with a strong emphasis on the integration of low-code development and generative AI. This year OutSystems pulled together each region and the event was held in Amsterdam from October 15-16. OutSystems ONE brought together over 2,000 industry leaders, developers, and IT professionals. Key topics included the transformative role of AI in accelerating app development, as well as the latest trends in AI-powered low-code platforms.

One of the major highlights was the introduction of OutSystems Mentor, an AI-powered tool that revolutionizes the software development lifecycle by enabling faster and more efficient app generation, quality control, and monitoring. This tool represents a significant leap in combining AI with low-code platforms, making it easier for companies to build, iterate, and maintain high-quality applications rapidly.

The ONE event also featured customer success stories and innovation awards, recognizing companies like Bosch, Toyota, and HEINEKEN for their use of low-code technology to drive digital transformation and efficiency. Furthermore, the conference showcased the winners of the “Build for the Future Hackathon,” where innovative solutions like apps for children with autism and platforms supporting ex-prisoners were celebrated. The apps that OutSystems customers build continue to impress even though I have seen so many success stories.

One of the more impressive presentations was by Dominic Cugini from Key Bank. The KeyBank success story with OutSystems highlights how the financial institution leveraged the platform to transform its digital services and improve customer experiences. KeyBank, a leading U.S. regional bank, faced challenges in maintaining its legacy systems, which slowed down innovation and made it difficult to meet rapidly changing customer expectations. In summary, KeyBank’s partnership with OutSystems enabled it to modernize its digital services, improve customer experiences, and increase operational efficiency, all while reducing costs and accelerating time-to-market.
